hardwall / bonding
Its a scratch coat you do before you skim a wall if you need a wall that's brick or block you can use these items and scratch coat it before you skim

Plastering
Skimming over bad walls or artex - which involves in using a variety of different materials, but I tend to use multi finish and you mix up to a nice creamy consistency and put a two coat method on walls or ceilings before flattening and making it have a flat and smooth finish, ready to be painted
Dry - line Dot and Dab & Plaster-boarding
Dot and Dab is when you fix plasterboard to a solid wall using a bag of dry wall adhesive
Plaster-boarding over old ceiling or ripping down existing to replace with nice new board ready for skimming over
Drywall
Drywall often used on commercial big area:
involves in scrim on the joins and filling in the tapered edge of a board with a 3 coat method using joint filler and joint cement and sand down after ready for painters
